iPhone 18 Rumours: Everything We've Heard So Far (Unconfirmed)

Published on the Talisa Phones Kenya blog: www.talisaphones.co.ke

Time of writing: 1 July 2026. Rumours move fast, and we can't promise everything here will still hold up by the time you're reading it. If it's been a while since this went live, treat it as a snapshot of what people were saying back then, not the final word. Check our Tech News blog for anything more recent.

Let's get one thing out of the way: Apple hasn't said a word about the iPhone 18 yet. Everything in this post comes from leakers, supply chain insiders, and analysts making educated guesses, not from Apple itself. So read it for fun, not as gospel. Things could change completely between now and launch day.

If you're trying to decide whether to buy now or hold out, it's worth first taking a look at what we've got in stock, our current Apple phones, or reading our guide on how to buy a second-hand iPhone in Nairobi without getting conned. Then come back and enjoy the rumour mill with us.

When Might the iPhone 18 Actually Launch?

The biggest talking point right now is that Apple might not drop the whole iPhone 18 lineup at once this year. Instead, word on the street is that it'll be split across two windows:

  • September 2026 (rumoured): iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple's long-awaited first foldable iPhone

  • Spring 2027 (rumoured): The standard iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e, and possibly a second-generation iPhone Air

We'd take this with a pinch of salt, though. Apple hasn't confirmed any of these dates, and "leaked" launch windows have a habit of shifting closer to the actual event. So don't set your calendar reminders just yet.

*These KES figures are a straight currency conversion at current exchange rates (about KES 129.5 to the dollar), not an actual Kenyan retail price. Once import duty, VAT, and shipping get added, expect real shelf prices here to land noticeably higher than the raw conversion. Take these numbers as a very loose ballpark, nothing more.

The Foldable iPhone: The Rumour We Actually Want to Believe

Apple's foldable iPhone, which leakers have nicknamed the "iPhone Fold" even though Apple hasn't confirmed a name, is easily the most exciting rumour in this whole story. Word is it'll use a book-style design with a titanium frame, opening up to a screen not far off an iPad mini. Sounds great on paper, but Apple's foldable has been "coming soon" for years now, so we're keeping our expectations in check until we see it with our own eyes.

The A20 Chip and That 2nm Jump

A few supply chain sources are saying Apple is finally moving to a 2-nanometer manufacturing process with the new A20 chips, down from the 3nm process used in the current A19. In theory, that should mean better performance and battery efficiency. In practice, Apple's actual chip numbers almost never leak accurately ahead of time, so we'll believe the real gains when Apple shows us the keynote slide.

What This Could Mean for Prices Here in Kenya

Rumours point to Apple raising prices again this year, partly because RAM has gotten a lot more expensive to source. If that plays out, expect it to eventually show up in Kenyan retail pricing too, on top of the usual import costs that already push iPhone prices higher here than in the US. If you'd rather save some money right now than gamble on rumoured pricing, our guide to ex-UK and ex-USA phones in Kenya is worth a read. It's how a lot of our customers get a genuine, current-generation iPhone for a lot less than brand new.

So, Should You Wait for the iPhone 18?

Honestly, probably not, at least not if you need a phone now. Even the rumoured release dates stretch anywhere from September 2026 to spring 2027 depending on which model you're after, and that's assuming nothing slips further. If you'd rather have a real iPhone in your hands today instead of waiting on speculation, check out what we currently have in stock from Apple, including brand-new sealed units and carefully graded refurbished options.

Our Final Word

Everything you've just read comes from leaks, analyst notes, and supply chain chatter, NOT from Apple, and it only reflects what was being said as of 1 July 2026. Rumours can flip in a matter of weeks, so if you're reading this a while after we published it, some of this may already be outdated or proven wrong. We'll keep this page updated as better information comes in, and we'll write up the real, confirmed spec sheet the moment Apple makes it official.
